Siwa Oasis, Shali, Aghurmi, Oracle Temple (Alexander the Great), Sun Spring (Cleopatras bath) - mysterious names, far away from the rest of the world. Until only some years ago, you needed a long yourney to reach it. But now, after finishing the new road from Bahariya it takes only 3-4 hours !

The old town of Shali, on top of two hills, was ruined some centuries ago by heavy rain, but still it is mysterious. All around you find old relics: Gebel Mauta, with hundreds of graves (some are well painted), the fortress of Aghurmi with the Oracle Temple, not far the rest of a second temple, the Sun Spring (apparently the bath of Kleopatra).

If you are sitting on the terrace of your hotel, looking to the illuminated old town, you can be lost in thought...
